On Wednesday was one of my closest friend's birthday and we decided to go on a weekend getaway to a friend's house in Reading, Pennsylvania. If you follow me on Instagram then you know how muchI love traveling. It's nice going on a mini vacation close to home.
Follow me on Instagram to see more pictures from the trip! :)
I teamed up with photographer Ben Kulo (click) for this amazing shoot.
I've been a huge fan of Shrimps since I was in high school. For their Fall/Winter 15 collection they showcased a pvc trench coat with a bright yellow fur collar and I thought to myself "I NEED TO GET MY HANDS ON ONE!" When I found this trench coat at a thrift store for $15, I immediately thought of this DIY project! I attached my orange fur collar from Boohoo and wallahhh-- my own version of Shrimps' beautiful trench coat.
On Wednesday my friends and I went to a free latin dance party on The Highline and let me tell ya'll.... It was so much fun! Orlando Marin and his all-star band were performing. It was the perfect way to start off the summer.
Looking back and posting pictures from my trip really has me missing my beautiful island. I have to say, I had an amazing trip and I am truly thankful for all the people I met.
This day my friends and I went to the river Masi Pedro in Bonao. I threw on my swimwear, dashiki and my favorite pair of distressed denim shorts and off I went! Easy, flowy and comfy!
Also, thank you DressLink for sending my these chic-ass sunnies! I love them!
I honestly cannot put into words how amazing my trip to the Dominican Republic was! I am so grateful for my beautiful friends and family and everyone else I met while I was there. I am also grateful for the health of my grandparents-- I am so thankful that I was able to spend time with them.
Although it was not my first time visiting, this by far has been my favorite trip so far. I was reminded of how loving, caring and full of life my people are despite their circumstances. My culture and my people fill me with pride.

I have arrived safely. I will try to blog a bit while I am here but I can't promise anything. I am overwhelmed with joy to be here with my family and to be in this beautiful country. I can't wait to share my trip with you all.
Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a great weekend ♥ I had a pretty hectic weekend from work to one of my closest friend's baby shower, to now packing for my trip. I am leaving to the Dominican Republic on Tuesday and I have not done any packing what so ever! In the middle of all of this, I still took some time to hang out with my friend and have some fun or maybe I am just procrastinating! Hahaha.
I have always loved carnivals/street fairs since I was a little boy. The lights, the food, the people, and all of the fun-- I just love it! Moving on to my outfit, I wanted to be really comfortable. A muscle tank, distressed shorts, and accessories are the way to go.
Happy Friday everyone! I love sharing my outfits and a little bit about my life with you guys! This week has been so much fun, as you've probably seen on my Instagram!
Yesterday I was feeling a bit adventurous and I wanted to wander out and explore. I called up my friend Kirstie, and well.. the rest is history! There is something so freeing and gratifying about exploring new places and venturing out. Something in my spirit just longs for adventure. Hahaha. I am so grateful for my friends who love and accept me just as I am. Plus, they are always willing to join me on my shenanigans!
I absolutely love high waist denim shorts. They are perfect for the summer and are so easy to wear! They are perfect for a day at the beach.
Hello lovelys. So the weather in NYC is amazing today! Despite the snowstorm we had earlier this week, the sun is out and doing it's thang honey!
I've always been fascinated with head wraps/turbans and I have many cool scarves that I've been playing around with lately. It's a great accessory and it's also a great alternative if you're having a bad hair day, we all have them! Hahaha!
"In an old house in Paris lived twelve little girls who walked in two straight lines. The smallest one was Madeline." I had so much fun making and putting this costume together! I hope you all had an awesome Halloween! ♥♥♥
My mom's friend came to New York City for her first time from Dominican Republic and has been staying with us. We've been showing her around the city and so far she really likes it here! Last night we decided to take her to stroll 5th Avenue and stop for some Halal food, which she loved as well! I really wanted to be comfortable since we were going to be doing a lot of walking so I decided to wear my new sneakers. Also, I'm trying to wear them as much as I can before summer is over.
If you you know of a cool place that I should take my mom's friend don't hesitate to let me know!
Hi my loves! It's been a long time since I last posted, I have been a bit lazy haha! So you all know how much I love shoes, especially PRINTED ;) I have been wanting a pair of leopard print sneakers for a very long time now but the prices are just INSANE! But luckily, one day I walked into a Payless and found them! Just how I wanted them, my size, good price and the LAST PAIR! Lucky, right? I paid 20 bucks for these babies and I am in love, they are so comfy!
By the way, I never notice how much my hair has grown until I see pictures of myself! #LoveYourNaturalHair ♥
For a while now I have been obsessed with ombré distressed shorts. I finally decided to make my own pair and I love them! I'm thinking of making a tutorial soon ;) What do you think?

I am not a huge fan of Justin Bieber but I've been loving his new music!
I would honestly love to tell you all about this tepee in Brooklyn and it's significance but I am exhausted! But I will tell you this, walking in I was overwhelmed by feelings of peace and tranquility and it was awesome! If you're ever in Williamsburg I suggest you check this place out! It's a beauty! So a few months ago a friend of mine gave me this vintage wrap skirt her grandmother had gave to her and I was so thankful and excited to wear it! I, of course, turned it into a cape!
