Style Sunday: Street Chic

So I am starting this new thing called "Style Sunday" which is basically on Sundays I will post pictures of people I have styled. I actually decided to start this a while ago. I started a few weeks ago when I styled Shannel, remember the "Something About Her" post? Yea, that one, but I totally forgot to actually write "Style Sunday" whoops! Hahaha! Well here you have it, Style Sunday! ♥ Today my dearest friend Kymberly came over to my house, I had a blast! We cooked, sang, danced, did homework, I did her hair and makeup (Which I love doing) and of course, I styled her! I miss her already! Enjoy xo

How To Make A Statement at NYFW

So it is that time of year! It is NYFW! And the best way to get recognized is with a simultaneously polished and playful look. Don't be afraid to mix prints and play with colors. I love the layering with the two shirts and I feel that leopard/animal print shoes are an essential piece to have!

The Olive Warmth Of Winter

I woke up in an Earthy mood today ( if that's a thing). So I kind of obsessed over the idea of looking "wintery warm" (If that's a thing too Lol) and this is the outfit that manifested itself. Warm tones of green, brown and blue make for a beautiful "wintery warm" outfit and a very satisfied Roger.

Everyone that personally knows me knows that I love Amy Winehouse! I always listen to her music but lately, I've been listening to her more than usual. Especially this song! Her music is incredible and her voice was unforgettable! Rest In Peace my queen ♥

DIY Suit

Hello my loves! Yesterday was my friend Jhoselinn's Quinceañera, in English, her sweet 15. I really wanted to wear a printed suit, so I went to my local fabric store, bought some fabric and got to work! So yes, this was a DIY outfit, and in my opinion; it turned out pretty well for my first major DIY project! For the celebration I decided to change my shoes and remove my necklace and add a tie, just because I thought it would be more appropriate for the occasion. Well anyway, I had lots of fun! I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much a I did! Much love ♥

These pictures are from a few days ago when the weather was bee-you-tee-full. I've always loved the matching suit look but for this outfit I decided to match the pants and shirt and add a pop with the blazer! I decided to add my newsboy cap and my gold bag because the outfit was looking a little bland but, you know me, I love gold so I used any excuse to show off my new bag! Have a wonderful weekend ya'll!

Something About Her

Happy Sunday everyone! I spent this whole weekend with my friend Shannel, we had so much fun as always! I styled Shannel in this yesterday but I didn't have time to post it, like I said in my last post, I've been so busy lately! I really liked the combination of the printed skirt with the printed sweater, and so did she! Do you?
If you decide to remake this look, a printed skirt with a printed top I would love to see it! Post it on Instagram and hashtag #RogerDeMonserrath

CHS 2012'

Hey my dears! I know it has been a while since I last posted! I apologize for that! I have been so busy with school, work, and trying to keep all of my friends, hahaha! Today I hung out with my Best-est Friend in the whole wide world, Aisha! She had never been to the High Line and I thought today was the perfect day to go! Well anyway, on my outfit: my friend graduated from high school a few years ago and no longer wanted her school cardigan so she asked me if I wanted it. Of course I said yes! How could I not? As strange as it sounds, I love school uniforms, especially school cardigans/sweaters. Something about them is just really cute and stuff, ya know? Childhood nostalgia...
By the way, I did have a coat on! :p

New York When It Sizzles

I know what you are all thinking! "You're wearing shorts in the Winter?! You're crazy!" Well, this is why I added a sweater and thick socks! I was actually really warm. I have always wanted to do a look like this. I've always wanted to wear shorts in the winter with a long coat. In my opinion, it looks really chic!

It's 2014!

Happy 2014 everyone! I hope that this new year brings you peace, love and many good things. For this new year I really want to work on my fashion, school, and most importantly myself. I want to continue to be a person who lives in faith. Here is a prayer:
O LORD, thank you for a New Year and a fresh start. Please give me wisdom and strength to serve you with integrity and faithfulness in this coming year. I pray that your work be done in my life as I offer myself, my plans, and my future to you. I pray this through Jesus my intercessor and Lord. Amen.
Shannel's look:
For Shannel's look I was going for a more laid back yet sexy look which is why I paired her boyfriend jeans with the strappy heels. I added the snake skin clutch/bag to the outfit to add some pop and plus, I think the bag goes great with the shoes!

My Look:
Today I was feeling a bit edgy! I really enjoyed this look, it was fashionable yet comfortable! Since I have been feeling a little sick for the past few days, I layered up! I wore a black t-shirt under my sheer top, a leather moto jacket, and my new coat! I was very warm!

Neverland

Hello my dears! I went over to my friend's house in Westchester for a sleepover and I had a blast! Apart from watching movies and baking cookies, she took me to an awesome park around her neighborhood which is where these photos were taken. By the way, I was FUH-REEZING in these pictures, can you tell?

DIY African Printed Pants

A few months ago I went to my local fabric store with my mom to buy some fabric for my Halloween costume. I saw this fabric and I really wanted it! This fabric has been sitting in my house since Halloween without even being touched! Yesterday I was insanely bored at home and decided to get all artsy and stuff. And then it suddenly came to me *You should make pants out of that fabric* So, I did! By the way, Merry Christmas Eve!
Happy Holidays!

He's A Mystery Boy

Have you ever been into a store and you find absolutely nothing and right when you're about to walk out you see the most perfect piece and you instantly fall in love? Well that's what happened to me with this jacket! On Monday I went to a thrift store close to my school and I was so disappointed because I had walked there and I didn't find anything that caught my eye. Right when I was getting ready to leave I saw this beauty and it was love at first sight. It was like one of those love scenes in a movie when a girl sees a guy and everything stops and slow music comes on and they're just staring at each other. Well, I am sure you guys know how much I love this jacket!
By the way, my friend Aisha took these pictures for me and I had lots of fun shooting this! Although I was freezing my behind!

You Make Me Happy

As I am writing this post I have a smile on my face. I am so in love with the way my life is going! I am so amazed by GOD! Everyday I wake up and I am reminded of how much he loves me! This past week I felt was the worst week ever, for many reasons! You know when everything is just going wrong, and when you think it can't get any worse, it does? That's how my week was! Terrible right? I was so discouraged and sad and I was letting those emotions get the best of me but when I began to pray those feelings of anger, hate, and disappointment just vanished! In this, I am reminded that I am not alone. God is always there with me to guide and comfort me!

Hello friends! So this is what I wore on Thanksgiving day! Words cannot even express how thankful I am to spend time with my family. We often get so wrapped up in the importance of money or other things in life that we sometimes forget about the most important little things.

A Well Respected Man

"Cause he gets up in the morning, And he goes to work at nine, And he comes back home at five-thirty, Gets the same train every time. Cause his world is built round punctuality, It never fails."
With this look I really wanted to capture a hardworking man in the 70's.
