Down By The River

Hi Loves!

I can't believe September is here already! Although I am so excited for Fall, I am not ready to let go of summer yet.

My friend Ashanti and I wanted to close off the summer by enjoying a nice canoe ride in the Bronx River. It was so much fun!

80s Staple

Hi loves!

The weather was absolutely beautiful today! Fall is creeping in right around the corner, and although I am not ready to let go of summer-- I am so excited!!

Today was a really great day for me. My friend Tanya is in town for a few days and I decided to take her to Harlem since she's never been. We did a bit of shopping at the african market (my favoriteeee) went to the Apollo and ate at this really good buffet style restaurant.

Now y'all know how much I love the 80's. Oversized double breasted blazers were a staple in the 80s. I saw this blazer at the goodwill and literally fell in love with it as soon as I saw it!

Colmado Papi

Hi my loves!

I took a mini vacation and went to Reading Pennsylvania again. I fell in love with Reading because it reminds me of the Dominican Republic. These 2 bodegas or should I say colmados (corner stores) were on my list to shoot. I fell in love with the bright colors and cool architecture, just like home.

Celebrating Life!

Hi my loves!

It's been a while since I last posted and a lot has happened. Thankfully, I have been working more on my styling and I am super excited to launch my styling portfolio! I also turned 21 last week. I am so thankful for another year of life. I am grateful for my friends and family. I am humbled by the presence of my ancestors who allow me to be a source of light in my everyday encounters.

Also, yesterday was my mom's birthday. So we decided to celebrate together and go out for brunch. I've always said that for my 21st birthday I wanted to dress in all white. The color white symbolizes purity, innocence, wholeness and completion. White is a color of protection and encouragement offering a sense of peace and calm, comfort and hope. Dressing in all white offers an inner cleansing and what better way to welcome a new year of life? xoloo

The Suede jacket

Hi my loves!

Suede has been very popular and trending over the last few months and although I know it may seem like a fall staple, it's great for spring!

Suede jackets are light and will keep you warm without giving you that bundled up look.
This one is from boohoo Click

Carrot Top

Hi my loves!
I teamed up with photographer Ben Kulo (click) for this amazing shoot.

I've been a huge fan of Shrimps since I was in high school. For their Fall/Winter 15 collection they showcased a pvc trench coat with a bright yellow fur collar and I thought to myself "I NEED TO GET MY HANDS ON ONE!" When I found this trench coat at a thrift store for $15, I immediately thought of this DIY project!  I attached my orange fur collar from Boohoo and wallahhh-- my own version of Shrimps' beautiful trench coat.

Winter Mood

After being at home for most of the week, my mom and I decided to head out into the cold weather and grab a very well needed hot coffee. Although we've barley had snow in NYC,  I am already over it and looking forward to Spring. I must admit though, there's something very peaceful and beautiful about a snowstorm as absurd as that sounds.

Monochromatically Red

Hi my loves!

You all know how much I love mixing prints and monochromatic dressing. As easy as it may look, monochromatic dressing does require some thought so that you don't look boring. Unless you are wearing a co-ord in which both pieces are the same shade-- try to play with textures. For example, I decided to wear this knit turtle neck with satin pants.

I decided to wear my silver sneakers because, well, I love the mix of color and also comfort has been super important to me lately.

Tortuga Rosa

I'm such a shoe boy, and winter gives me major boot fever. I say this for about everything I own but, when I saw these boots its was love at first sight. Navy blue is one of my favorite colors this season and it can be paired with pretty much anything. These boots are super comfortable and perfect for the winter days that await us. EVEN BETTER, Mandee is having a huge sale and they were only $14.00! I will be living this coat and boots this season. The weather is just too cold not to!

Happy Holidays my loves!

FAUX FUR COLLAR

Hi loves!
We are in December but the weather has been playing with us! Lately it's been kind've warm but slowly but surely the temperature has been dropping. The winter season is the perfect time of year to wear faux fur. With so many options and a wide variety of styles, faux fur can be dressed up for a night out and dressed down.
I wore this outfit yesterday to hang out with my two friends Adalgisa and Shannel. I put this outfit together really quickly because Ada was waiting for me. I love the simple beige coat with the faux fur collar, it just finishes the look and adds that POP that I love.

Thankful

Hi my loves!
I cannot believe it's been a month since I last blogged. I have been super busy lately and also my computer is kind've messed up so it makes it a little difficult to post.

As you all know today is thanksgiving and I have so much to be thankful for. I am amazed at how blessed I am. Now, I may not be exactly where I want to be but I am sure on my way and I truly believe that timing is everything. Sometimes we get so caught up in where we want to be and the "what ifs" that we don't stop and cherish the now, this moment.

I leave you guys with this: Appreciate your journey and remember that where you are right now is exactly where you need to be. Growth take time.
